Tewksbury is twenty minutes from our door, closer than some of the New Hampshire towns we serve, so it gets the same quick scheduling. The housing is mostly colonials, splits, and raised ranches built from the 1970s through the 1990s along Route 38, Andover Street, and the neighborhoods off Shawsheen Street, plus a lot of condos and townhouses from the same era. The floors are red oak, usually 2 1/4 inch strip, and the common request is a refinish that takes the orange out of a 1980s finish and leaves the floor clear and natural.

Can you get the orange color out of my 1980s floors?
Yes. The orange is the old oil-based polyurethane, which ambers as it ages. Sanding to bare wood removes it, and a water-based finish stays clear, so the floor keeps the natural color of the oak. If you'd rather go darker or grayer, we stain before the finish and show you samples on your own floor first.
