Hardwood floors & painting in Nashua, NH
Nashua is right across the Merrimack from our shop, and it has more original hardwood hiding under carpet than any town we work in.
Nashua is our biggest market after Hudson, and it's an easy one to love: the Gate City has every kind of house, from 1890s Victorians in the North End and French Hill to 1950s capes off the Daniel Webster Highway to new condos downtown. The one thing most of them share is wood floors that deserve better than they've gotten.
In the older neighborhoods we're usually pulling up carpet to find maple or red oak that hasn't seen daylight in fifty years, then sanding and refinishing it. In the newer parts of town, off Route 101A and toward Hollis, it's more often new hardwood or luxury vinyl plank going in, plus epoxy for the garage. Either way, we're ten minutes away, which makes the estimate and the follow-up visits easy.

What we do in Nashua
Homes here, and what they need.
The North End, French Hill, and the Tree Streets are full of pre-1940 homes and multi-families with original maple and oak, often under carpet or several layers of old finish. South and west Nashua is mostly 1950s to 1980s capes, ranches, and colonials with solid red oak. Because so many Nashua homes predate 1978, our EPA RRP lead-safe certification matters here more than almost anywhere else we work.
- Hardwood refinishing
Carpet out, original maple or oak sanded and refinished, in North End and French Hill homes.
- Flooring installation
LVP in finished basements and kitchens, and hardwood to match older floors during additions.
- Interior painting
Whole-interior repaints before a move-in, with lead-safe practices in older homes.
- Epoxy floors
Epoxy garage floors in the newer neighborhoods on the west side.
Reviews
What customers say.
“We had a great experience with LCH Painting and Flooring installing luxury vinyl plank flooring in our basement. They responded quickly to provide an estimate, showed up on time, and took the time to explain the entire process to us. … The new flooring looks fantastic and completely transformed our basement.”
“Very happy I went with LCH for my LVP install for my kitchen remodel project. Due to other contractors being in and out of the house constantly, they came and finished the job in one day which was a huge help for us planning the rest of the project.”
“LCH Painting did a stellar job at my home. They painted two bedrooms, closets, a hall, stairs and landing and my kitchen ceiling. My house is gleaming. They were meticulous, attentive and left my house spotless.”
Questions
Nashua questions.
Do you refinish hardwood floors in Nashua, NH?
Yes. Nashua is about ten minutes from our shop in Hudson and is one of the towns we work in most. We sand, stain, and refinish hardwood, repair or replace damaged boards, and install new hardwood and luxury vinyl plank.
There's carpet over the floors in my older Nashua home. Is the wood underneath worth saving?
Usually, yes. Carpet actually protects old floors, so the maple and oak under it in North End, French Hill, and Tree Streets homes is often in better shape than floors that were never covered. We lift a corner at the estimate and tell you what's there.
My Nashua house was built before 1978. Does that change anything?
It means lead paint may be present, which matters for painting and for any sanding near painted trim. LCH is an EPA RRP lead-safe certified firm and follows lead-safe work practices in pre-1978 homes.
Can you do the floors and the painting in one project?
Yes, and it's the best order: floors first while the rooms are empty, then walls and trim. Several of our Nashua jobs have been a full-house refinish plus a repaint before the owners moved in.
